The first of these hornpipes was found in the manuscript book, dated 1800, of the Welch family of Bosham, West Sussex. We had it from “The Sussex
Tune Book” by Anne Loughran and Vie Gammon.
Stybarrow Crag is a Lakeland tune, copied by Frank Kidson from William Irwin’s manuscript – Irwin ascribed it to one “Hamilton”.
