Two tunes from the north of England. The Roman Wall comes from the playing of Northumbrian fiddler Adam Grey, via the Topic LP “Holey Ha’penny”.

Candle Gill (a variation of Kendal Ghyll) is from William Vickers’ collection (c.1770 - 1772), now republished by Matt Seattle as “The Great Northern Tunebook”.
